NEW YORK — May 21, 2015 — Frank Branchini, Chairman and CEO, EmblemHealth, announced today that the Board of Directors has selected Karen Ignagni to be the next President and CEO of EmblemHealth effective September 1, 2015. Mr. Branchini, who has served EmblemHealth and its predecessor, as President/CEO for 30 years, will continue as the Chair of the Board of Directors.

Ms. Ignagni will join EmblemHealth after more than 20 years with America's Health Insurance Plans (“AHIP”) as President and CEO. She has played a key role in the evolution of health care policy, including passage of the Affordable Care Act. Previously, Ms. Ignagni served as the Director of the AFL-CIO's Department of Employee Benefits.
